Cave in Uhud to be fenced

Source: Summary of an article that appears in the newspaper titled "Arab News" dated 23rd January 2006.

During the Battle of Uhud, the Prophet, who was wounded in the skirmish, took rest in this cave. Saudi scholars have suggested fencing off the two-meter-wide entrance to the cave located about a kilometer from the ridge where archers were positioned during battles between followers of Islam and pagans. The governor of Madinah said that the cave would be fenced and not destroyed. He said that the main idea is to stop the non-Islamic behavior by protecting the site.

Report from QM: Very little islamic monuments have been preserved as of date and even this renounced monument is under siege. We hereby condemn this move to cover this monument [Holy Place].

Allah & Muhammad's Name on Oscar Fish

Source: Summary of an article that appears in the newspaper titled "Guardian Unlimited" written by "Paul Lewis" dated Thursday February 2, 2006.

Allah Says In his holy book :(And how many Signs in the heavens and the earth do they pass by? Yet they turn (their faces) away from them!) {YUSUF (JOSEPH)  12 - 105}

As supposed miracles go, Oscar the fish is the best that the town of Waterfoot, near Bury, has ever seen. Locals flocked to the village's pet shop, Water Aquatic, this week after it was noticed that the markings on the scales of the two-year-old albino Oscar fish mimicked the Arabic script for Allah. The other side of the fish appeared to be inscribed with the word Muhammad only served to compound the spectacle. Within hours, Oscar - originally from Singapore - found hordes of locals, paparazzi and national television news reporters peering into his tank.

Mohammed Riaz-Shahid, 38, the manager of the Oasis Fast Food restaurant across the road was quickly appointed interpreter and led the chorus of claims that this was a message from above. "There's no doubt about it," he said. "The markings are clear to see. Allah on one side, Muhammad on the other." "Christians, Jews - they all believe in God," he explained. "So God's showing a sign to everyone, a sign that he's here."

Peter Hurst, 17, concurred. "It's a sign of something - no doubt - probably God," he said. "It's amazing, especially for this time of year."

Perhaps the most flabbergasted visitor of all was a man from "a town nearby" who asked to remain anonymous. Last night, he claimed, he had dreamed about a whale with the words Muhammad and Allah inscribed on its head. "It's real, it's real," he said in awe, biting his fingers. "As soon as I heard I came running. I didn't think twice about the dream until I saw the fish on the television." Eyeing the patterns a little suspiciously, he added: "I hope that wasn't painted on."

On closer inspection, however, he agreed the markings were naturally occurring, and the fish was indeed sent as evidence of God's existence.

But the manager of the shop, Tony Walker, 27, had an altogether different explanation for the "miracle" fish's appearance on his premises. "I would hope it came to me because I'm an honest man," he said. "Someone up there sent the fish because of the way I choose to run my business."

The owner, Naz Raja, 29, from Nelson near Blackburn, who purchased the fish two weeks ago for £10, told Guardian Unlimited he was less sure about the divine origin of his new pet. "I bought it because it was beautiful. It might be a sign, I suppose," he said. But a miracle? "Kind of, yeah."

The reason for writing the Burdah Shareef

The writer HAZRAT IMAAM SAALIH SHARA-FUD-DEEN ABU ABDULLAH MUHAMMAD BIN HASAN AL-BUSAIRI Raliyallahu Anhu had become paralysed. His doctors and physicians gave up all hope of his recovery. Eventually in this state of complete helplessness and despair, he composed this poem expressing the grandeur and excellence of Sayyidina Rasuluallah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam. He used this as his sole means of asking Allah Ta'alaa to cure him from his illness. He did isolate himself in a quiet place one Thursday night and with complete devotion, concentration and sincerity, he began reciting this poem. While  reciting, sleep overcame him.He had a vision of Sayyidina Rasuluallah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam. He told Sayyidina Rasuluallah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam of his illness and then Sayyidina Rasuluallah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam passed his blessed hand over
Imam Busairi's body. Through the barakat and blessings of Sayyidina  Rasuluallah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam, Allah Ta’alaa granted complete cure from his paralysis. When he awoke he found a scarf or shawl on his body which he had seen Sayyidina Rasuluallah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam place on his paralysed limbs. This resulted in the poem being named "Qasidah Burdah" (The Poem of the Scarf).

In the morning when due to some necessity, he went to the bazaar. A pious dervish greeted him with salaam and requested him to recite the qasidah which he had composed in praise of Sayyidina Rasuluallah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam. The poet said that I have composed many poems in praise of Rasuluallah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam, which one do you wish to hear? The dervish replied: "The one which begins with, A-min Tazak-kurin (i.e. Qasidah Burdah)". Upon this request, the poet became wonder struck and said, "I take an oath that no one knows about this poem. Tell me the truth,  from whom did you hear about it?" The dervish replied,
"I take an oath by Allah that I heard it from you last night when in a dream you had recited it to Sayyidina Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam, whereupon Sayyidina Rasuluallah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam became attentive towards you and because of its blessings Allah Ta'alaa granted you complete cure from your ailment". When the poet gave this poem to the dervish his secret became known to all the people and its barakat and blessings too became general for all.

When this poem reached Baha-ud-deen the governor of the country named Tahir, he highly regarded and respected this poem that he would stand while listening to it. It is also narrated that Sa'aadud-deen Farouqi, who was a viceroy of Baha-ud-deen, had became blind. In a dream he saw a pious person who told him to take the Qasidah Burdah from Baha-ud-deen and place it on his eyes. In the morning he told Baha-ud-deen about this dream. The Qasidah Burdah was brought and with full sincerity and conviction Sa'aadud-deen placed it on his eyes. Through its barakath, Allah Ta'alaa granted him complete cure and restored his eyesight.

Cure with Water

‘And We created from water every living thing’ (The Holy Qur’aan)

From the saying of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) (570CE-633CD), it is not permissible to refuse these things to any one,  water, salt and fire. Salt is a cure for many illness. The Prophet (pbuh) always started his meals with water and a pinch of salt and encouraged the others to do the same.

This information could save your life or add years to it.

Do you every wonder why so many people are suffering with asthma, having heart attacks and other life-threatening illnesses? Why so many people are dying because of these illnesses? The answer is that they are desperately thirsty for water. Due to chronic water-shortage, their bodies have started malfunctioning and developed these devastating conditions.

This momentous discovery was made by Dr. Batmanghelidj, and is proven by his personal experience and extensive research. He discovered the healing power of water by chance when he cured a man of acute stomach pains who was close to dying, with a single glass of water. Since then, he has cured thousands of people with water. His findings matched what Islam taught 14 hundred years ago.

Your body’s need for water is only second to its need for air. Every function of your body depends on a constant supply of water. A shortage of this essential supply will result in many debilitating illnesses. According to Dr. Batmanghelidj, most illnesses are the direst result of chronic dehydration. Every day, your body is being forced to function with less water than it needs, and this water-shortage escalates until your body is facing a ‘water crisis’. At this point, your body sends desperate signals in the form of angina pains, heart attacks etc. Even cancer and diabetes are the results of chronic dehydration. Look at this list:

·         Angina and heart diseases needing by-pass surgery; storke

·         Bulimia

·         Morning sickness

·         Chronic constipation

·         Chronic fatigue syndrome

·         Asthma

·         Headache and migraine

·         Unexplained chronic/acure pains

·         All allergies

·         Leg pain when walking

·         Alzheimer’s disease

·         High blood pressure/cholesterol

·         Back pain

·         Depression and stress

·         Gastric & ulcer pain

·         Rheumatoid arthritis

·         Dizziness and feeling faint

·         Heart burn

·         Colitis pain

·         Dry skin problems

·         Hiatal hernia

·         Weight problems

These conditions aren’t illnesses, they are symptoms of severe dehydration; you aren’t ill, you are thirsty, and you can prevent and even cure them with water, and water alone.

Thousands of people have cured themselves of these conditions simply by following Dr. Batmanghelij’s recommendation to drink 8-10 glasses (2 litres) of water daily. This is how much water the average person needs, with pregnant and breastfeeding women needing much more. Start drinking 8 glasses of water or more every day and you will be amazed by the results. If you are not used to drinking much water, do not worry; as you drink more water, your thirst mechanism will improve and your body will demand more.

Recommendations & Tips

·         Always drink 1-2 glasses of water before breakfast and meals with a pinch of salt. And avoid drinking water after meals for 2 hours.

·         Satisfy your body’s need for water on demand: whenever you feel thirsty, drink water immediately.

·         Sip water throughout the day to reach the target of 8-10 glasses, so that your body will be hydrated at all times and also you will need to go to toilet less often.

·         Tea and coffee dehydrate your body; drink extra water to counter this. Diet drinks and other artificial sweetener products has been linked to obesity and other serious damages to your system.

·         Whenever you experience ‘thirst signals’, e.g. wheezing, angina pains or migraines etc, drink 2 glasses of water immediately to ease the symptoms. Even heart attacks can be prevented by drinking plenty of water. (Chest pains projecting to the left arm are a sign of an impending heart attack).

·         Your urine should be light yellow to colourless. Dark coloured urine means that your kidneys are working too hard trying to rid the body of toxins. Long-term dehydration causes kidney damage.

·         After water, salt is essential to your health. That is why if you have diarrhoea, you need to drink plenty of water with some salt. Include salt in your diet – for every 10 glasses of water, have half a teaspoon (3g) of salt. A salt-free diet is very dangerous. Muscle cramps at night are a sign of salt deficiency. Feeling dizzy or faint when standing means lack of water or salt. Feeling fait after bathing is due to lack of water. For sleeping problems have a glass of water and a pinch of salt.

·         For asthma and allergies, increase salt slightly. When experiencing asthma attacks or allergy symptoms, drink 2 glasses of water with a pinch of salt.

Breastfeeding is best

Q: I AM expecting my first baby soon. Although I would really like to try breastfeeding, I am more worried that I won’t have enough milk for baby. How can I find the confidence to try?

A: Concern over low milk supply is the number one reason mothers give for discontinuing breastfeeding or not giving it a try at all. Because we live in a bottle-feeding culture, it can be difficult especially for first-time mothers to trust in a process they cannot easily measure. Understanding the breastfeeding process and the way milk is created in the breast is your best way of feeling strong and in control of the situation. Strength comes with proper knowledge. It is also reassuring to learn that most women are physically capable of making enough milk for their babies to be healthy and happy.

Q: Many doctors say it is important to give supplemental feeds or top up feeds to breastfeeding babies. Why isn’t breastfeeding and bottle-feeding at the same time a good idea?

A: Doctors may not all have expertise in breast-feeding. Their advice is given with a well-meaning concern for the “supposed well being” of the baby and perhaps their own lack of confidence in the mother. Advising a mother to bottle-feed allows doctors to control the babies’ feeding situation regardless of the mother’s involvement. It must be the mother’s decision to commit herself to her child or allow others to take control.

If a mother decides to breastfeed, it is important for her to remember that the first few weeks after giving birth are a critical time for establishing the milk supply. During this time, frequent, thorough emptying of the breast sets and controls the level of her milk production. The milk supply can rapidly drop if the baby does not stimulate this process, is not latched on well or is filling its stomach with formula or other liquids. The less milk the baby takes from the breast, the less often he feeds, the less milk is produced.

Even giving the baby a bottle at night so that the new mother can sleep may sound reasonable, but it often leads to a low milk supply down the road. A better way to help the new mother is to encourage her to rest with her baby at the breast, provide her with good nutrition, and free her from household duties so she can get breastfeeding off to a good start.

Q: Are some women just no able to produce enough milk? I have tried very hard to exclusively breastfeed, but lately I developed a cold and had to take some meditation. I just don’t feel that my milk is enough now.

A: Most mothers find that they have plenty of milk for their babies, even as baby grows into an active toddler. Sometimes, in spite of good support and the mother’s best efforts, there is a real problem with milk supply. In your case it may be that medications, especially head cold remedies, can dramatically reduced your milk supply. Breast pumping is often suggested in this case to re-stimulate the milk supply.

Q: My friend has a disorder and is always weak. Now that she is expecting her first baby, I am worried that she won’t be strong enough to breast-feed. Are there any medical conditions that might interfere with a mother having enough milk supply?

A: Conditions such as Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, thyroid disorders, chest surgery, or invasive breast surgery can create problems with a women’s ability to have full milk production. Severe dietary restrictions during pregnancy and lactation will affect some women’s milk supplies, as can smoking.

Excessive loss of blood during delivery and anemia can both reduce milk production until the mother recovers. If a fragment of the placenta remains in the uterus it will prevent full milk production until it is passed or removed. Some medical conditions such as diabetes can delay full milk production for a period of time. Typically, lack of frequent and effective removal of milk from the breasts, along with infections, fatigue and excessive stress are the major causes of early problems with milk supply. These situations can all be monitored and managed. Your friend should talk over her feeding decision with her doctor.

Once a mother has decided to give breastfeeding a chance, at any time her concerns about her milk supply deserve the reassurance of a weight check to make sure her infant is growing well. If a problem does exist, remember that most causes of milk supply can be corrected with proper assessment. Low milk supply generally improves with more rest, improved diet, reduction of stress, and improved management of lactation.

Q: My baby was born last night. When will my milk come in?

A: The production of mature milk begins about 30 hours after delivery, but may not be evident for two to five days. Timing varies depending on your baby’s ability to latch on to the breast properly, how soon after delivery you started to breastfeed and how frequently your baby sucks. Generally, the more babies you have had, the sooner your milk comes in. Keep in mind that until the mature milk is present, your baby is receiving rich colostrums the starter milk, which has three times the protein of mature milk and is just right for meeting all your baby’s needs during those first few days.

Q: My first baby is due very soon. I was wondering how often and for how long should I feed my baby?

A: Babies need to be feed as often as they indicate a desire to breastfeed. Watch your baby for cues. Moving his head side to side, brushing a hand across his face or making little sucking movements with his mouth, these are all signs indicating that it is time to breastfeed.

Babies will demonstrate these feeding cues for up to 30 minutes before they start crying. By the time a baby has reached the point of crying, it can sometimes be difficult to get a feed started because the baby is too upset.

Most babies need to breastfeed at least 8 to 12 times in 24 hours for the first few weeks. Once you and your baby have established a comfortable routine, the frequency and length of the feedings per day will decrease.

This process takes about six weeks, which is just about the length of time it takes you to completely recover physically from the birth process. Breastfeed as long as your baby wants to on the first breast. Your baby will let you know when he is finished, either by letting go of the breast or falling asleep. You can hold the baby upright a bit and then offer the other breast. If the baby takes it that is fine, if not, that is fine too.

Q: My baby is only a few days old. Why does it seem that she wants to nurse all the time?

A: Some baby’s love to be held and nursed frequently as a way of helping them to adjust to life outside the womb. In fact, the first three to four months of life for all babies is a transition from the womb to the world.

During days when a baby’s appetite seems more than usual, set aside other commitments to focus all your energy on your baby. Sleep when your baby sleeps to recharge your system after these high need periods. Keeping your baby close to you is a big help.
Just as a toddler needs a hug and a kiss once in awhile to make the world right again, a newborn may need to be cuddled and even nursed for reassurance. As babies get older, they learn other ways of self-comforting and breastfeeding sessions generally become shorter and less frequent.

Q: I had planned to try to breastfeed this time, but my baby was just born prematurely. I was told that because the baby was early I wouldn’t have milk. I am terribly upset and disappointed. Is there anything I can do?

A: It is not true that giving birth prematurely limits a mother’s ability to make enough milk. The extra stress, discomfort, and fatigue that go along with the birth of a premature baby can perhaps cause a slow start with milk production. In the first few days after giving birth, mothers may make just drops of milk each time they use the breast pump, so it is easy to get discouraged. Remember, these drops are like a medicine for your baby, because they provide protection from infection. This slow start usually gives way to an adequate milk supply by the fifth or sixth day after birth. So don’t give up.

Q: My baby was born prematurely a few days ago. Every time I try to pump out milk for her, I barely get more than a few drops. What is a normal amount of milk?

A: Nearly all mothers of premature babies worry about whether they are producing a normal amount of milk. Many things affect the amount of milk a mother produces-especially in the first few days after giving birth. A mother of a full-term breastfeeding baby produces only about an ounce of milk during the first 24 hours after birth, but by the 3rd or 4th day is making several times that amount. Mothers of premature infants frequently take a longer time to go from a few drops to an ounce or more at a pumping. This condition is referred to as a delayed onset of lactation, and is related more to pregnancy complications-such as bed rest, medications, and Cesarean deliveries-rather than to premature birth itself. No one knows exactly why this is the case, but researchers think that the milk-making hormones or tissues in the breast may be affected temporarily by these complications and medications. A slower onset of milk production does not necessarily mean that a mother will not make enough milk for her baby-only that it may take her a few extra days in the beginning to catch up with mothers who have had uncomplicated deliveries. You need to pump as often as the baby would normally be nursing which should be every 2-3 hours. Ideally, by the end of the second week of pumping, you will be producing at least 500 ml (about two cups) of milk each day. This is the amount of milk that your baby will need at the time of hospital discharge. Thereafter, you will want to maintain or even increase this amount so that you have enough milk to feed your baby after hospital discharge.

Q: My baby was too small at birth. I had to leave her behind in the NICU when I left the hospital. I want to help her grow and so I have been trying to pump my milk to send to the hospital. Can I do anything to increase my milk supply?

A: First, try to spend as much time in the nursery with your baby as possible during these early days, if that is where you are the most relaxed. Family members often feel that mothers should stay at home and rest after giving birth prematurely, but mothers report that being separated from their babies causes even greater stress.

When you are in the nursery, request a comfortable chair, and use the breast pump at your baby’s bedside where you can see and touch your baby. When you are not in the nursery, pump where you can see your baby’s picture. If your baby’s condition permits, ask to hold your baby in Kangaroo - or skin-to-skin-care. Don’t be afraid to take pain medications that your doctor has prescribed. Most of these medications can be used safely with breastfeeding, and pain relief is important to milk production.

Greatest Eclipse is the instant when the distance between the Moon's shadow axis and Earth's center reaches a minimum.

Hybrid eclipses are also known as annular/total eclipses. Such an eclipse is both total and annular along different sections of its umbral path.

Eclipse magnitude is the fraction of the Sun's diameter obscured by the Moon. For annular eclipses, the eclipse magnitude is always less than 1. For total eclipses, the eclipse magnitude is always greater than or equal to 1. For both annular and total eclipses, the value listed is actually the ratio of diameters between the Moon and the Sun.

Central Duration is the duration of a total or annular eclipse at Greatest Eclipse. Greatest Eclipse is the instant when the axis of the Moon's shadow passes closest to Earth's center.

Geographic Region of Eclipse Visibility is the portion of Earth's surface where a partial eclipse can be seen. The central path of a total or annular eclipse covers a much smaller region of Earth and is described in brackets.
